Dr Grant brings to National Capital over 40 years of wide ranging experience in the global specialty chemical industry. Peter commenced his career working in Europe but moved to the US in 1990 to manage an acquisition that he was instrumental in establishing. Peter worked for Unilever, ICI and then Albemarle focusing in the last 25 years on building businesses in the Refinery, Chemical & Polymer Catalyst sectors.  Experience has included board membership and senior management roles in Environmental Engineering, R&D, Site Management and Business Management with full P&L responsibility.


Working with the global experts, Peter has been closely involved in major Strategic Planning and Industrial Marketing projects. In addition he has played active roles in M&A activities in Specialty Chemicals involving deals over $1 billion. These transactions included the Unilever acquisition of Stauffer Chemicals, the sale of the Unilever Chemicals business to ICI and the Albemarle acquisition of Akzo’s refinery catalyst business. Peter has also been instrumental is setting up major JV’s.


Peter is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institute of Chemical Engineers and holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Birmingham University (UK).
