Michael Abramowitz (Board of Advisors)
Mr. Abramowitz brings more than 45 years of experience in Information Technology (IT) as an advisor to National Capital Companies.
Mike is currently the President and Principal Partner of The PROCON Group LLC, a consulting company dealing with commercial companies that provide products and services to the U.S. Government as well as to the state and local level in the area of IT marketing strategies in addition to tactical sales approaches. The clientele served by The PROCON Group varies from multi-national, multi-billion dollar corporations to small minority-owned disadvantage businesses.
Prior to PROCON, Mr. Abramowitz held the position of Director of Strategic Programs for Sun Microsystems Federal, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Sun Microsystems, Inc. During his tenure with Sun, Mike was involved in a number of major acquisitions by Sun, including serving as the lead negotiator for the Sun, AOL, Netscape merger in 1998. In addition to his senior level management role which was responsible for the capture and subsequent booking of over $10B in IT revenue over a 14 year period, Mike also was responsible for the successful contract negotiations involving some of Sun’s most major corporate agreements including Boeing, CSC, EDS, Fujitsu Ltd, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and SAIC. Mr. Abramowitz retired from Sun in September 2006.
Prior to Sun, Mr. Abramowitz held senior level positions with Telos Corporation, Centel, M/A-Com, Dymarc Industries, RCA, IBM Westinghouse and Auerbach Corporation. He also served the U.S. Government at the Social Security Administration where he was the Senior Technical Advisor to the Commissioner for Systems.
Mr. Abramowitz holds a B.A. degree in Marketing from the University of Miami, Miami, Florida. Mike is a member of the IT Industry Advisory Council (IAC), the Council for Government Procurement (CGP) and the Association for Federal Information Resource Management (AFFIRM).
